Keep knocking over bedside water? Start with the reach.
A practical bedside check for people tired of spilling water during the same reach, turn or blanket movement.

Identify the moment that repeats
Think about whether the glass tips while you reach for it, put it down, move bedding or look for another object. If the same movement is involved each time, concentrate on that part of the routine. You do not need to diagnose why you spill to make the immediate setup easier to use.
Check from the position you actually use
With the glass set safely elsewhere, lie or sit in your normal position. Reach toward the intended drink spot without stretching across the bed or reaching behind your shoulder. Place the drink where you can grasp it and return it comfortably. A table that works from a seated position may be awkward when you are lying down.
Give the water a separate clear area
Keep books, glasses and the lamp switch out of the drink’s resting area and hand path. Leave charging cables and other lines clear so that pulling an object does not pull the drink. Separate the drink from electronics. If the table is too crowded to provide full support and room for your hand, use a different surface or reduce what lives there.
Do not ask soft bedding to behave like a table
A mattress can dip as you turn, and a duvet can move beneath a drink. Steadi widens a compatible container’s footprint; it does not make bedding rigid or attach the glass to the bed. A stable bedside table is a more predictable starting point. A rail-mounted accessory must be appropriate for the exact bed and installed according to its own instructions.
Match the solution to the problem
If your drink needs to stay closed when tipped, choose drinkware with a suitable closure and follow its instructions. If a compatible drink tips while resting on a supported surface, a wider base may be useful. For Steadi, check a container base of 2–3.15 inches across, full seating and handle clearance. Its whole 5.2-inch footprint needs support. A coaster alone addresses drips and rings, not a sealed drink or a wider support footprint.
Make the new spot easy to repeat
Use the same clear place for water each evening. Try the empty container first, then reassess the reach and return movement. A small light can help you locate the spot without searching by touch. If your needs change or reaching remains difficult, choose a setup suited to your situation rather than relying on a holder to solve the reach.
